What a jolly experience this wedding was, I loved the meetings we had with Joanna & Will and I double loved the appointments we did with Joanna and her gorgeous sister and sublime Mum.

So this was the thing our beautiful a Bride and her handsome Groom were getting married in Stoke    and then the wedding breakfast was to be at the fabulous The Grand Hotel in St Annes

Logistically we needed a plan that would work out, not only artistically but also in budget, so with a little help from some friends the problem was solved, Joanna & Will's lovely photographer Christian Allen and his lovely wife Rhona agreed to meet me at the crack of dawn to collect the Bridal Bouquets and Boutonnieres and deliver them to Stoke for us.

The evening before the big day our beautiful Beautiful Bride, Mum and Bridesmaid came over to FD Events to see the Bridal Bouquets, Corsages and Boutonnieres,  to give them the OK as our usual presentation couldn't happen in the usual way on the wedding day.

Joanna's Wedding Bouquet was just lovely a rich vintage, antique collection of English Garden blooms including Peonies, Phlox, Sweet Peas, Astrantia, Salvia, Peppermint, Nigella, fresh Lily of the Valley, Senecio and a rich and varied collection of Roses including Cool Water, Memory Lane, Amnesia, Classic Hydrangeas, Senecio, Thalaspi and Chasmanthium Latifiolia
The Bridal Bouquet handles was left semi naked and was bound with hessian then covered over with lace and clasped with the Bride's own brooch

The Bridesmaid's Bouquets were created as smaller versions of the Bridal Bouquet but with ivory being more predominant
We met up with the Bridal Party when they arrived back at The Grand after the wedding, the Bridesmaids looked so beautiful and their bouquets toned with and complimented their lavender gowns so perfectly
The Bridesmaids were wearing fresh flowers in their hair
Our Bride & Groom looked fabulous

Huge Congratulations to the super lovely Joanna & Will from all of the team here at Flower Design Events

Joanna's Bridal Bouquet still looked pretty gorgeous even after all of it's travels

Our tall elegant vases were topped with a huge plume of Pussy Willow and Contorted Hazel, a plethora of fresh Hydrangeas, Roses, Stocks, Phlox, Brassicas, Astrantia , Phlox, Quercus and trailing Amaranthus

The Top Table was dressed with a series of bottles, vases, vessels and jars in a variety of different shapes and sizes each one was filled with a posy of fresh flowers the design stretched the length of the table and was sat on a burlap and lace runner

Some of the tables were decorated with a collection of vessels, jars and jugs filled with fresh flowers and succulents

This was always going to be a fabulously styled affair, our wonderful Bride & Groom have spectacular taste and are just so cool, they were fortunate enough to have the brilliant Bride Groom's Sister Sophie's artistic help and guidance too, their collaboration created exciting and dynamic colour and texture choices which were great fun to work with and created breathtaking results.

I was sadly over ruled in my desire to attend this wedding not least because when we met up with our Bride & Groom at the Church & Silverholme way back in February Jason loved them and thought the venues were ace he put his name on it there and then, he also has a secret passion for the Groom's Mum's cakes which are delicious and if all that wasn't enough a huge number of Jason's favourite people were also going to be there too.
~
So Jason & Rebecca headed up to the Lakes at the crack of dawn,  Jason presented our beautiful Bride and her four fabulous Bridesmaids with their Bridal Bouquets, he showed them how to carry them

Jen looked so beautiful even in her dressing gown

The Lytch gate design was completed with some candlelit lanterns which just helped to keep the bugs away
St Peter's Church Finsthwaite

A random collection of bottles and jars, pumpkins and books dressed the font
Rebecca lined up all of the boutonnieres ready to pin them on to the Bride Groom and the all important guests as they arrived. Each boutonniere was entirely unique created using the same flower palette as the Bridal Bouquets, we'd bound them all with natural jute to suit the design perfectly.
An unwired corsage of white Dahlia with Snowflake Rose Buds and Monte Casino

This wedding was truly a joy to work on from our very first appointment with our Bride & Groom and both Mums it has been an absolute pleasure and privilege. As a result, I have a ridiculous number of fabulous flower pictures to share with you and a few of some very, very beautiful people,  I do hope you'll enjoy them...
~
Shirl, Berto & I headed out early, after all we had quite a lot to do, as a consequence we missed out on seeing our Bride and her Bridesmaids as they hadn't arrived back from the hairdressers when we delivered the bouquets but thankfully the brilliant Brides Dad was on hand to take on all of my instructions.
So, the venue for the ceremony was one of my all time favourites the quaint, cosy and terribly well run St Michael's Church in Whitewell.
We'd dressed the small Lytch Gate on both sides with garlands of Hops vines and some sweet scented Roses, Herbs, Snowberries and Hydrangeas

Random collections of lanterns and Rose Petals decorated the pathway leading to the front door
On either side of this rustic Church door we'd placed our Enchanted Trees illuminated with candlelit glass baubles

Just inside the porch on both sides we'd placed some 'Secret Garden' and slightly 'Baroque' style vessels which were all filled with unique posies and trails of fresh Hops
The colours throughout this wedding were just so subtle, a gentle gathering of hazy blue, grey, greens with soft nudey pinks

We selected lots of seasonal materials to create a textured tapestry vibe

Inside this lovely Chapel more fresh flowers welcomed the guests and the perfume was quite simply heavenly, posies of fresh flowers, herbs and foliages dressed each alternate pew end lining the aisle
Fabulously full and decadent, yet natural and garden picked, these huge pedestals created the perfect framing for the ceremony

The Pew End posies included fresh Peppermint, Stocks, Roses, Dille, Zinnia, Astilbe and Dahlias

The fresh Zinnias added a completely different texture to the collection of blooms

We always love working at Bartle Hall it's a fabulous venue, we particularly love it at this time of the year when the trees are turning golden but there's still a wonderful summer warmth in the air, the setting for an outdoor wedding is just perfect.
Best of all though is when we have such a fabulous couple to be creating gorgeous wedding flowers for, particularly when that fabulous couple have such wonderful taste...

We had a very clear brief from these two, a great mood board; a celebration of music and purple loveliness, lots pzazz and sparkle.

Hipster's All The Way For This Unique & Personal Wedding Celebration at Ashton Memorial Williamson Park & Thurnham Hall For Stephanie & Mark

I really don't know where to begin with this epic wedding, it's a fabulous story, so beautifully crafted by our imaginative & creative Bride & Groom, they live in London so we've enjoyed a long distance relationship punctuated by face to face meetings where a 'show & tell' atmosphere prevailed.
~
I first met up with these two uber cool folks last Autumn, we decided on a route to creating something truly unique, a skeleton of an idea you might say. We met up again in the Spring at Thurnham Hall, with a plan to put some meat on the bare bones.
I was knocked out by Mark's punchy graphics his fabulous invitations and order of service, the vibe was 'Music Hall Billboard' complete with cast list. Stephanie's gown was breathtaking and her ideas for Bridesmaids dresses were ace. The fabrics for ties & pocket squares were seriously lush and just wait until you see our Bride Groom's bow tie it's sublime.
~
The next step was of course to meet up at FD HQ and for our couple to see our ideas made up as sample designs,  in a happy change to our usual plan their fabulous photographer the brilliant James Jebson came down to familiarise himself with the colours and atmosphere for the day, he took some great pictures, the original ideas have of course been developed and have evolved  to perfection for the big day...

The tables were named after London Markets each table would have it's own identity and character
Our Bride Groom's name was immortalised in flower pots
Finally the big day arrived, the sun was shining and our flowers were revealed in glorious technicolour
Our beautiful Bride and her sensational Bridesmaids enjoyed my presentation of our bridal bouquet carrying lesson
Berto and I headed onward and upward to the very peak of Lancaster, the ceremony was taking place at Ashton Memorial in the middle of Williamson Park

Inside Ashton Memorial, the scene was set with vibrant blooms dressing the Registrars table and floral flower pots spelling out Dunbavan lining the aisle

The Bride & Groom's initials were set into a full on floral garland dressing the Registrars table
The Flower Pots with 'Scrabble'letters were filled with posies of fresh flowers

Continuing the 'Scrabble' theme, our boutonnieres included scrabble tiles the letters representing the names of the people wearing them

Each boutonniere was individually created using a unique collection of fresh flowers taken from the bridal bouquets

The ladies corsages too were treated to the scrabble effect

Our fabulous Bride Groom the super cool and super handsome Mark complete with his beautiful Boutonniere and wooden bow tie
Mark's Boutonniere included fresh Rosemary, Lily of the Valley, Craspedia, Cornflower, Rose Buds and Blackberries

A wild Boutonniere of fresh Brodea, Love in the Mist, Blackberries, Mentha and September Flower

I loved this Boutonniere featuring a spectacular checkerboard Dahlia, Thalaspi, September Flower and Blackberries

So again no apology for the length of this gargantuan posting, it features a very beautiful wedding, elegantly planned and exquisitely executed by our our lovely Bride & Groom who had enlisted the help of some seriously top notch wedding professionals making this day an absolute joy to be involved with.
~
Jason and I arrived early at Michelle's parent's home to present the Bridal Bouquets. The great folks from Flossy & Leigh were working their magic on hair and make up and the wonderful Charlotte Boothman from Lottie Designs was capturing every moment photographically, we are delighted to be able to share some her beautiful images within this posting.
The Bridal Bouquets included a plethora of fresh flowers and Succulents, fresh Amnesia, Keira and Quicksand & Safi Blue Roses with Forget me Nots, Eryngium, Love in the Mist and Sweet Peas. We attached Michelle's pearl and diamante brooches to the handles of all of the bouquets

What a blast we've had with Hayley and her gorgeous Mum, we've planned,  we've designed and we've created some fabulous flower designs together and what a joy it was to see it all come together on Saturday at The Great Hall at Mains
~
We'd chosen a delicate palette for the Bridal Bouquets with pale milky coffee, soft apricots, creams and ivory, a collection of fresh Roses, Snowberries, Hydrangeas, Astrantia and autumnal Oak leaves were gathered together to create beautifully tectured bouquets
The moment of handover, always a nerve racking moment....
The beautiful Hayley looked positively thrilled xxx

Hayley's fabulous Mum (Not quite fully dressed at this point) with her rather lovely corsage.

Ruby & Josie headed off to The Great Hall at Mains, the venue for the Wedding ceremony and reception
Inside the scene was set with candlelit lanterns and fresh Rose petals ling the aisle leading up to two magnificent pedestals framing the fireplace
The two tall and totally fabulous pedestal designs incorporated fresh white Delphiniums and contorted willow with seasonal Brassicas, Snowberry, Classic and fresh Hydrangeas, Dahlias, Roses and a plethora of autumnal foliages
A traditional candlelit Registrars table design complimented the pedestals beautifully
The second Registrars table was decorated with a series of various sizes of Martini glasses each one filled with a posy of fresh flowers

The Bride Groom's rather special Boutonniere consisted of a beautiful David Austin 'Juliet' Rose with Rolled Rose Petals, Snowberry, Thalaspi, Oak Leaves and Hydrangea florets
