Jess & Chris had put lots of themselves into this super chilled, seriously country style wedding, they provided us with a really personal Mood board which helped to inspire our designs, we adored the hedgerow gathered relaxed styling of the bouquets which complimented perfectly the pale sage green of the Bridesmaids gowns and the Lake District locations.
~
Our Ruby & Mike set off seriously early to head up to Cartmel to present our beautiful Bride Jess with her gloriously country hand picked style wedding bouquets

Our beautiful Bride and her lovely Bridesmaids were all getting ready at 'Ford House'in Cartmel which is where Ruby presented the FD Events Bridal Bouquet carrying lesson
Ruby & Mike headed across the square to the historic Cartmel Priory

Inside this historic Church which dates back to 1190 we'd given the interior a very simple and sympathetic treatment, with naturally tied posies of fresh flowers in jam jars on the ends of each alternate pew and two fabulous hand tied swags of fresh flowers, herbs and foliages were attached to either side of the internal arch

We used swathes of fresh ivy around the Candlestick
Posies of Wild flowers and herbs dressed the ends of the pews
Ruby lined up the wild style boutonnieres ready to pin them on to the Groom's Men

Fresh Pepermint, Wax Flower Blossom, Eryngium and Phlox Boutonniere
Dancing Grasses, Daisies and 'You & Me Together' Hydrangea florets tied together to create a wild informal boutonniere
Fresh Forget Me Nots, Peppermint, Chasmanthium Latifolia and Daisies tied with jute to create a naturally wild style of Boutonniere
A Marguerite, Sweet Pea, Forget Me Not and Wax Flower wild style boutonniere

A lovely Ladies wild style 'Un-wired Corsage' of 4 Good Roses and Gypsophilia with Champagne Grass
Ruby pinned on all of the Boutonnieres

A seriously dynamic photography team the sensational and uber brilliant Lisa Aldersley and Rob Berry
The Bride Groom's very proud parents
Our beautiful Bride and her lovely entourage walked to Church through the streets of Cartmel

 Totally breathtaking...

The Bridal Bouquet looked so relaxed and just so perfect, the shades of pale greens, lavenders and purples with highlights in ivory and splashes pollen yellow
The Bridesmaids were wearing fresh flowers in their hair to match their pretty bridal posies of Roses, Sweet Peas, Love in the Mist and fresh herbs

The sun was shining today and so it should do on this gorgeous couple. I can't tell you what a riot these two are and what a huge pleasure it has been to work with them and meet their lovely families. We've had meetings, here at FD HQ, at St Andrews and at The Villa, we've planned Mood boards, we've created sample designs, we've even had to be a bit brutal in the culling of certain designs (Some that I liked, one particular one that Phil liked but thankfully none that Rachael liked!!!) and finally the big day had arrived...
~
Jason & Olivia were the lucky ones to be doing the presentation of Bridal Bouquets, each bouquet was quite unique and utterly luscious
A plethora of vibrant blooms including English Garden Roses, Lily of the Valley, Craspedia, Daisies, Sweet Peas, Eremurus and Blackberries were gathered together in vast bundles of loveliness for our Bride and Bridesmaids to carry down the aisle
Jason and Rachael; the hand over of the Bouquet a nerve racking moment every time...
Phew Rachael looks delighted ...
The Bouquet captured all that is glorious about English Summer blooms

The bridesmaids all lined up and Jason conducted the FD Events Bridal Bouquet carrying lesson...

Olivia & Jason headed off to St Andrew's Church in Ashton, literally walking distance from the Brides family home, and incidentally the Church Rachael's Mum & Dad were married in a few years earlier

We loved these dapper Gents and their suits looked super cool, all of the Boutonnieres were different, quite unique yet created from flowers used in the Bridal Bouquets

I have just a few things to say before I launch into this blog posting. Firstly, I/we love these two families, we all have a long history and both families, Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Siblings (in laws) & Cousins are all quite simply splendid and it was such a privilege to be asked to create the flowers for such an important day for a bunch of wonderful people.
Secondly, the Bride & Groom are just blissful, a joy to work for, they gave me a clear brief to work to  and a free rein to get creative for which I am very grateful. Thirdly, the Bridesmaid's were sensational absolute naturals  except for 'Ruby & Dolly' (you know who you are) I don't want to work with you two again, you were terrifying and I didn't even get a picture of you!!!  Finally, Wanda is just divine, I loved the carriage, the driver was just perfect and we loved dressing all of them with just a few well placed flowers.
~
So with all of that said, I hope, dear reader, you won't mind the rather self indulgent number of photographs...
Our Shirl, Berto & I were lucky enough to present our beautiful Bride, the lovely, Samantha with her rather glorious wedding bouquet in 'Sugared Almond' shades of Pink, Coral, Cream, Apricot, Lilac and Ivory
The Bridesmaids carried smaller versions of the Bridal Bouquet

Outside in the yard the super gorgeous 'Wanda' was having a shower and getting beautified in preparation for her big moment
The Bride's Father's own 'Rolls Royce' of Carriages was polished and gleaming
Posies of flowers dressed both handles and the whip holder
We all headed off to the iconic Lytham Church St Cuthbert's where Jason had already dressed the Lytch Gate with a spectacular garland of fresh flowers created by our Ruby
Two sweet scented Bay Trees dressed with Roses and Lissianthus flanked the front door

Inside this beautiful Church two pedestal designs framed the start of the aisle and two more stood at the head of the aisle framing the ceremony space
Pedestals of Delphiniums, Roses, Dahlias, Hydrangeas, Stocks, Astilbe and Sweet Peas, created a warm and fragranced welcome for the guests
Posies of fresh flowers decorated the end of each alternate pew lining the aisle

In the porch I lined up all of the Boutonnieres and Corsages ready to pin them on to the all important Groom and guests as they arrived.
The Bride Groom's Boutonniere included a collection of Roses, Rolled Petals, with Sweet Peas and Hydrangea Florets to match his Bride's Bouquet
The Best Man Richard's Boutonniere featured a 'Miss Piggy' Rose

The Groom's Mum's Corsage of fresh Lily of the Valley, with Rolled Rose Petals and Love in the Mist
Grandma's Corsage of Snowflake & Akito Roses

We'd made this Boutonniere for one of the Usher's Chris, we'd created flowers for his wedding to the lovely Charlotte a few months ago and this Rose 'Keira' featured in their wedding.
Our super handsome Bride Groom Chris was first to have his Boutonniere pinned on

I am reliably informed that this is Chris (3) complete with his especially created Boutonniere (it seems our Bride Groom is Chris (2) more of Chris (1) later)

Today's Blog posting features the fabulous wedding of Laura & Stephen who were married at Beeston Manor on Saturday, we have loved working with these two lovely people, they had a really clear idea of the look they were going for and produced a magnificent mood board for us to be inspired by, a few weeks ago we created some sample designs for them to try out, after a little bit of tweeking a final plan was hatched and at last the big day had arrived!!!

Blush Pink & Duck Egg Blue for the Lovely Zoe & Matt at Bartle Hall in The All New Balmoral Suite

We felt hugely honoured and privileged to be asked to create the flowers for Zoe & Matt's wedding day, we'd been lucky enough to create flowers for Zoe's twin sister's wedding last year and I always love it when you get to look after a sibling's wedding flowers, however there were some hurdles to get over, firstly Zoe & Michelle look very much the same (Matt & Craig don't which was a relief), and have very similar taste (their Mood Boards were very alike) the same tones, flowers and designs really do suit both girls, so we had to get our thinking caps on...
~
Our Olivia was the lucky person to present Zoe with her exquisite Bouquet of Peonies, English Garden Roses: Keira, Patience & Bombastic, Lily of the Valley, Ice Blue Hydrangeas and Love in the Mist.

The blue needed to be truly pale as did the blush pinks, our beautiful Bride Zoe is very tiny so the bouquet needed to be compact but including all of the elements of flower and colour.
Matt's Boutonniere was a simple but lovely combination of Akito Rose, Eucalyptus, Bombastic Rose with Hydrangea Florets and Love in the Mist.
The Handbag Corsage of Snowflake Roses with pale blue Love in The Mist.
Inside the Balmoral Suite the scene was set.
A traditional registrars table design of pink & blue Hydrangeas, Roses, Stocks and Dahlias.
On either side of the ceremony space two glorious pedestals of Delphiniums, Astilbe, Hydrangeas and Roses framed the ceremony perfectly.

At the foot of the aisle, just in front of the dance floor a voluptuous design dressed the plinth.
Matt, Zoe's super handsome Bride Groom, was first to have his Boutonniere pinned on.
Olivia pinned on everyone's boutonnieres and corsages as they arrived.

The Bridesmaids were next to arrive, the little Flower Girls were wearing flowers in their hair and carried dainty posies of fresh Sweet Peas, Peonies and Roses.

We really did have so much fun with this wedding, when Caroline came in with her fabulous mood board I was so inspired, I did away with our usual plan of mood board appointment and then a few weeks later the samples appointment and launched straight into creating designs for her, thankfully she loved them and our plans were cemented for this wonderful day!!!

Doves, Cobalt Blue & The Language of Flowers for Adele & Nicholas' Wedding at St John the Evangelist Church Lund & Bartle Hall

These two had such a clear brief, it really was huge pleasure to make it a reality, it involved lots of beautiful colour and Doves which were an integral part of their beautiful mood board. The dove is often used as a symbol for high admiration, the true value of unconditional love, it represents, grace, devotion, hopefulness, divinity and promise as do many of the flowers we used throughout all of the designs, each flower had special significance, we chose each one carefully taking into account the colour combination and symbolism
~
Our Josie had the great pleasure of presenting the lovely Adele with her Bridal Bouquet
This fabulous Bridal Bouquet contained a collection of truly meaningful and symbolic blooms:
The beautiful Phalaenopsis Orchid in the centre of Adele's bouquet is a symbol of Love, Delphinium represents infinite possibility, Snap Dragons mean Graciousness and Strength, Roses are an expression of deep emotion and true love, Freesia means perseverance and friendship, Daisies represent patience, innocence and purity, whilst Nerines meaning Allusion were used in secret love messages in the 18th century, Nigella were also included meaning 'Love in the Mist' symbolising a chain that binds lovers together, Peonies depict good fortune and a happy marriage
The Bridesmaids Bouquet toned with the cobalt blue gown and included a plethora of vibrant colour
Inside Lund Church the pews were dressed with posies of fresh sweet scented blooms tied to the end of each alternate pew lining the aisle

Just a head of the altar two simple designs framed the ceremony space

The Bride Groom's Symbolic Boutonniere included... A Rose an expression of deep emotion and true love,  deep red/orange fiery Freesia means perseverance and friendship, Daisies represent patience, innocence and purity,  'Love in the Mist' symbolising a chain that binds lovers together was snuggled into the pale blue Hydrangea meaning heartfelt gratitude

Green Wedding Bouquet

It's always a huge pleasure to see our FD Events Brides and Grooms at weddings here's a link to Chris & Joanne's gorgeous and colourful wedding earlier this year
The celebrations moved on to the spectacular surroundings of Mitton Hall the venue for the wedding breakfast and reception

Vases of fresh flowers dressed the low bar tables at the entrance to the party room
The shaded naked cake looked and smelled delicious we dressed the cake with garlands of fresh flowers, foliages and Thistles
Each table was decorated with a unique table design created using our cast iron verdi gris vessels, a collection of bottles, jars and wood slices filled and decorated with Succulents, Mosses, Proteas, Poppy seed heads, Thistles, Calla Lilies and Senecio
Seed trays were stacked, bark and chunks of wood were randomly arranged alongside tea light votives and a variety of vessels filled with signature blooms and Succulents
Along the Top Table a version of our 'Walk in the Woods' design juxtaposed with an elegantly dressed table
Posies of fresh flowers amongst mosses, slices of wood and Bark dressed the top table beautifully

Textured designs sat on hessian looked wonderful
Our Verdi Gris Candelabra was swathed with a garland of fresh Orchids, Proteas, Amaranthus, Snowberry and Calla Lily

Our Cast Iron Verdi Gris Bird Bath topped with clustered candles surrounded by Orchids Succulents and Gypsophilia

Yesterday we had the great pleasure of creating some beautiful flowers for Catherine & Ian's intimate  and relaxed wedding, just twelve very special people were invited to this colourful celebration of love and life long commitment.
The scene was set in the little Orangery with a candlelit Registrars table design created using a profusion of late summer loveliness, Sunflowers, Orchids, Gerberas, Shamrock, Delphiniums, Roses, Oak Leaf, Hydrangeas, Thistles and Lissianthus
Upstairs in one of the suites our beautiful Bride Cat was getting ready she was wearing an elegant gown in silvery grey, the perfect contrast to her brightly coloured Bridal Bouquet
In this glorious bridal bouquet I included Sunflowers, Gerberas, Cardifolium, Poppy Seed Heads, Thistles, Shamrock, Orchids, grey Albiflora, Lissianthus and Quercus
Cat's Bridesmaid & Witness was wearing shades of blue and turquoise, Josie had made her a corsage in rich vibrant shades to compliment the Bridal Bouquet
The Wrist Corsage utilised a combination of wired Gerbera Petals, Delphinium Florets, Classic Hydrangeas to match her gown and diamante jewels

Clusters of bottles and jars filled with fresh flowers decorated the occasional tables in the Orangery
The Registrars table design was long and elegant and would be used on the dining table afterwards

Our Bride Groom the lovely Ian complete with his rather special Boutonniere of Albiflora, Gerbera and Delphinium Florets the stem was bound with silver bullion

The Groom's Men were wearing ivory Gerbera Boutonnieres

Huge & Ginormous Congratulations to Ian & Cat from all of the team here at Flower Design Events
