This blog post has been a labour of love, I've thoroughly enjoyed re-visiting this wonderful and magical day.
We've had such a brilliant time working with these two gorgeous folks together with Anna's lovely cousin Claire we've enjoyed a number of meetings some at FD HQ and also over at Hurlston Hall , planning the fresh flowers for this spectacular day was a really important part of their plans and as such needed to be treated with care, respect and patience...![]()

After our initial first fact finding meeting we got together again with this fabulous mood board a thoroughly detailed board with no stone left un-turned created by Anna, we loved the stationery, the water colour shades seemed like the perfect place to start with fresh flower shades ...
We commenced our plans with one of our FD Flower Palettes a collection of blooms in shades to compliment the mood board, we'd included some pale blue Hydrangeas, Love in the Mist, Coral Peonies, Vuvuezela Roses and some beautifully fragrant Apricot Stocks once we arrived at their wedding date in late July seasonal additions were added into the mix some gorgeous powder blue Delphiniums, fragrant Jasmine, David Austin's Juliet Roses, Sweet Peas and Veronica...
The next step was to invite our Bride and Groom to come in to FD HQ to view a set of sample designs created exclusively for them, we made a sample Bridal Bouquet for Anna, a Boutonniere for Richard to try and some sample table centres too

At last the big day arrived and I presented two FD boxes filled with glorious Bridal bouquets...
We decided that I'd take the little Flower Girl's Posies to Church and we'd hand them over just before the ceremony
The quintessentially English country Church of St Stephen in the Banks
Posies of fresh Delphiniums, Hydrangeas, Roses, Love in the Mist and Stocks decorated each alternate pew end lining the aisle
Gorgeous voluptuous pedestals framed the altar and the ceremony space perfectly, we'd chosen shades to compliment the pale duck egg blue walls and vibrant stained glass windows.
We'd included a sumptuous collection of all that is great and good in European gardens in July
Fresh pale blue Hydrangeas were teamed with Coral Peonies, Apricot Stocks, Delphiniums, Veronica, Roses and Nigella topped our magnificent stone Urns and pedestal stands
I loved this huge vase of garden flowers brought in by one one of the parishioners
Next I lined up all of the Corsages and Boutonnieres ready to pin them on and attach them to their new owners.
Anna's cousin Claire's beautiful wrist corsage designed to compliment her black and floral dress
The Groom's Mum Sandra's corsage in silver greys and ivory shades
The Bride Groom's super special Boutonniere featured a Juliet Rose with Love in the Mist, Delphiniums and rolled Sensation Rose Petals
Anna's super handsome Bride Groom Richard was first to have his Boutonniere pinned to his lapel
The proportion of the boutonniere was just perfect with our tall Bride Groom Richard, we'd bound the stem with silver bullion to match his cufflinks and wedding ring.
I pinned on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly
Each boutonniere was designed to fit the height and build of each Groom's Man

Claire's wrist corsage of Roses, Waxflower and Hydrangea florets complimented her black dress with mushroom toned florals perfectly, it really is so helpful when our Bride's supply images of their important ladies outfits, it's quite a challenge to find the the right shades for each one, but a huge thrill when things match up as beautifully as this one.
Claire looked fabulous
The shades of fresh flowers matched the watercolour floral paintings on the stationery designed by Kim from Pingle Pie perfectly
The adorable little Flower Girls looked wonderful carrying tiny nosegays of fresh Roses, Sweet Peas, Delphiniums and Love in the Mist, Claire's little girl looks exactly like her lovely Mum and behaved impeccably in the very important role of Flower Girl, I could hire her out!!!xxxx

Too adorable for words...

Oh so gorgeous xx
The Flower Girl's Nosegays were made to size to fit each of the girls heights and ages, remarkably all five of them carried them pretty much all of the time xxx
Beautiful xxx
The fabulously glamorous Groom's Mum Sandra her ensemble completed with her silvery grey corsage of Rose buds, Hydrangea Florets and Senecio
We'd attached Sandra's Corsage with a magnet so as not to make a hole in her jacket, it really did look perfect with her grey suit.
The Bride's lovely Mum Linda was wearing a corsage created from the same flowers I'd used to make the Bride's bouquet, we'd rolled the individual Rose petals so as to get the deeper corally shade in to match her lipstick and nail varnish shade
The gorgeous Bridesmaids were next to arrive wearing midnight blue gowns and carrying beautiful bouquets of Roses, Peonies and Love in the Mist created as smaller versions of the Bride's bouquet
The Bridesmaids were wearing fresh matching flowers in their hair too
Our Bride arrived in style with her super proud Dad Noel
The little ones waited patiently with Claire in the church door way...
Anna looked absolutely breathtakingly beautiful she was wearing a stunning gown from Boutique Bride in Crosby
I do love this wedding bouquet of fresh Coral Peonies, David Austin's Juliet Roses, Vuvuezela, fresh Lily of the Valley, Hydrangea Florets, Chasmanthium Latifolia, Love in the Mist, Sweet Peas and Veronica
Our beautiful Bride Anna was also wearing fresh flowers in her hair, just enough to bring the colours through her entire ensemble
Completely adorable, she really did steel everyone's hearts...
Massive Congratulations to Anna & Richard from all of the team here at Flower Design Events
Ready in the porch was a basket of fresh Rose Petal Confetti to shower on the happy couple
The professional photographer for the day was the lovely Matthew Rycraft we had such a lovely day working with him xx
Our Bride and Groom were showered with fresh cool fragrant Rose Petals, every Bride should know what that feels like!!!...
The celebrations moved on to the newly built Hurlston Hall the venue for the wedding reception
A warm welcome awaited the guests with fresh floral swags dressing the signs so perfectly
The beautiful graphics continued on to the tables and seating plan which we dressed with a fresh floral swag continuing the watercolour and fresh flower themes of the day
The wedding reception room looked wonderful, it's bright, open and airy with spectacular views across the countryside and golf course, the tables were dressed with a combination of high and low table designs
Our tall elegant glass column vases were topped with floral magnificence in magical watercolour shades
The Top table featured a collection of posies in vases set on mirrors illuminated by floating candles and silver candlesticks
The Bride's bouquet took up residence in the centre of the top table creating a gorgeous feature
The beautiful semi naked wedding cake had been created by Claire's hubby Gary it smelled delicious, each tier was a different flavour including Lemon, Raspberry and white Chocolate if memory serves me right, we'd dressed it with a fresh flower topper incorporating all of the flowers used in the bridal bouquets and smaller corsages on the lower tiers
The very proud Cake Maker Gary, I think he should enter our FD Bake Off next year
Some of the guest tables were decorated with a collection of posies in small glass column vases to match their taller counterparts on other tables
Glass orbs with tea lights were suspended from the taller table designs and each table was dressed with candlelit votives and palest blue table sequins
Bouquets ready for presentation to the two Mum's were placed just behind the top table so our Bride Groom could hand them over easily
Guest tables were decorated with collections of small posies of fresh flowers in low column vases set on mirrors and surrounded by silver tea light votives
The attention to detail was boundless Anna really had thought of everything...
The guests were enjoying a reception of drinks and canapes in the sunshine by the lake
The flower themes and stationery graphics were applied to everything providing continuity and familiarity, I really appreciate this kind of detailing
Our work here was done it was time to leave the wedding party in full swing, huge thanks to Anna & Richard and both of their fabulous families for choosing FD Events to create their wedding flowers for them, we loved it all!!! xxxx
