We all loved this super eclectic wedding, we loved the country vibe, we adored the contemporary rustic twists, we loved Jodie's gorgeous gown, we adored the stationery and Mark's suit and country tweed pocket square, we loved their spectacular cake, the game bird feathers, their fabulous photographer Eriin Browne, their superb venue The Wild Boar  in the Lake District all in all from the mood board on we knew for certain it was going to look very special indeed...
We made a collection of sample designs for them to see
The wedding Bouquet was relaxed, hand gathered styling, I'd included Bumble Bee Orchids, Peonies, Stocks, Stags Horn Fern, Pheasant Feathers, Ivy, Love in the Mist, Anemones, Freesia, Eryngium and Daisies

Mark's Boutonniere included a collection of blooms and feathers used in his Bride's bouquet and then we bound them together with twine to match his suit
We created samples for the table designs
We'd decided on a collection of coloured recycled glass vessels and bottles all in different heights and sizes each with a different posy of fresh flowers in equally vibrant tones

love this gorgeous Bright yellow Italian Poppy
On the big day the posies were gathered into huge transportation boxes, they looked like a magical, floral tapestry

Our Jason had the huge pleasure of presenting our gorgeous Bride Jodie with her glorious wedding bouquet
We showed Jodie how to carry her bouquet perfectly

The ceremony and wedding reception were being held at the super atmospheric Wild Boar in Crook

The collection of unique individual boutonnieres were all lined up ready to be pinned on the Bride Groom and his Groom's Men as they arrived

The Bride Groom Mark's super special boutonniere created by our Chloe included Pheasant Feathers, Craspedia, Rose Buds, Daisies, Love in the Mist, Eryngium, Sweet Peas and Wax Flower Blossom
Jodie's super handsome Bride Groom Mark his ensemble completed by a rather special boutonniere

The Bride Groom's game feather boutonniere looked superb
Jason pinned on all of the  boutonnieres ensuring each one was perfectly positioned

Inside The Wild Boar the scene was set for the ceremony with fresh flowers dressing the Registrars table and candlelit Hurricane Lamps surrounded by mosses and petals
The aisle and the occasional tables lining the route to the Registrars table was dressed with Hurricane Lanterns and fragrant Rose Petals set on moss and slices of tree

Inside The Wild Boar a transformation was taking place, I loved this unique idea for the seating plan

The Top Table in the bay window was just stunning the coloured glass looked wonderful with the light shining through it.

Each placement and collection  of fresh flowers on all of the dining tables was carefully considered allowing for a textured rhythmic display of flowers along the length of the top table and throughout the Wild Boar

    The amazing Wedding Cake
The tables at The Wild Boar are all different shapes and sizes which makes the designs on the tables so much more interesting
One one of the round tables the design was kept central to the table with a log providing central height for the fresh flowers

This really was a pretty wedding, we've had great fun planning the flowers with these two gorgeous folks and I am going to miss our appointments dreadfully, we met up with Sarah & Michale a few times, firstly to get to know each other a good year or so ago, I loved their plans for their stylish stationery and their ideas for a rich colour palette, they'd booked some great suppliers so we were looking forward to working with Flossy & Leigh Make Up & Hair designers,  Steven Barber Photography and we couldn't wait to see Sarah's Ella Rosa by Kenneth Winston gown from Bride 2 Bee in Prestwich.
We got together again this March to see how their plans had further developed, Sarah & Michael's mood board was beautiful and inspired our ideas which we presented as sample designs at our last appointment in April

We'd created a sample bridal bouquet for Sarah to hold and try out
A sample boutonniere for Michael to try we decided to make the Rose 'slimmer' for the actual day by pinning the Rose so ensuring it wouldn't 'bloom' too much!

A suggestion for the top table design
An idea for the pedestals in church and the guest tables
At last the big day arrived and our Chloe and Tom headed up to the Lakes
Chloe un-veiled the bridal bouquets and handed them to our Bride and her Bridesmaids ready for the all important FD Events Bridal Bouquet carrying lesson
Sarah's gorgeous wedding bouquet included a plethora of seasonal materials and fragrant fresh flowers; David Austin's Kate Rose and the Peonies provided the rich and vibrant hot pink shade which teamed perfectly with softer pink Sweet Avalanche Roses, Ranunculus, Sweet Peas, Astilbe and Sarah Bernhardt Peonies, the lilac & blue hues were provided by Love in the Mist 'Nigella', Grape Hyacinths 'Muscari', Memory Lane Roses and Freesia, I'd also included some fresh Lily of the Valley and Astrantia in Ivory to compliment Sarah's gown.
Te Bridesmaids bouquets were created as smaller simpler versions of the Bride's Bouquet
Chloe showed everyone how to carry their Bridal Bouquets beautifully

The Bride's Mum's Corsage included some of the same blooms we'd used in the bridal bouquet and was designed to match her ensemble

Chloe & Tom headed off to St Patrick's Church in Patterdale to set up for the ceremony and to meet the Bride Groom and his Groom's Men to pin on their Boutonnieres

The Boutonnieres and Groom's Mum's corsage were all lined up in the porch ready to be pinned on when they all arrived
The Bride Groom's slender boutonniere featured a Kate Rose with rolled Rose Petals and Muscari
The Groom's Mum's Corsage in shades of ivory, lilac & purples included Freesia, Rose buds and Hydrangea florets
Inside the Church we'd dressed the alternate Pew Ends lining the aisle with posies of fresh flowers

The Font and our two pedestals were dressed with one of our 'Verdi Gris Bird Baths' topped with a candlelit hurricane lamp surrounded by a garden of fresh flowers
Fresh fragrant Stocks, Peonies, Muscari, Roses, Freesia, Astilbe and Hydrangeas were arranged around the central hurricane lantern

The two pedestals at the top of the aisle were positioned to frame the ceremony perfectly

Sarah's super handsome Bride Groom Michael was first to have his Boutonniere pinned to his lapel

Chloe pinned on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly

The Groom's Mum Joan looked  lovely and her corsage matched her outfit perfectly

Inside the dining room the scene was set for the wedding breakfast
Our beautiful hurricane lamp designs were set on slate mats the fresh flowers surrounding them looked perfect in their new surroundings

The Top table was dressed with posies of fresh flowers and tea light votives set on slate

Smaller verdi gris urns were filled with posies of fresh flowers

The stunning wedding cake looked so beautiful with the lake behind creating the perfect back drop

Just behind the top table we placed the bouquets that Michale would be presenting to the two Mum's during his speech

We have had an absolute blast with Claire and her gorgeous Mum Julie, planning the flowers for this glorious wedding day really has been an absolute joy. I do love May weddings, the flowers are always luscious and blousy, all my favourites are in season Peonies, English Garden Roses, Sweet peas, Lily of the Valley, Hydrangeas, Astilbe, Larkspur and so, so much more, this wedding day had them all in a very pretty colour palette; soft blush pinks, rose golds and ivory.
I also love Cartmel it's one of the prettiest villages with the most sensational Church the iconic Cartmel Priory a jewel in our northern crown! and the venue for the nuptials, the celebrations were being held at the equally famous Cartmel Racecourse with the great folks from Campbell & Rowley's  providing some stunning food and event management.
    ~
We'd met up with Claire & Julie to talk through the mood board back at the beginning of the year, Claire had done a beautiful job including all of the details that were important to her and Craig.
We invited them back to the FD Events studio to see a set of sample designs we'd created just for them, we'd made Claire a beautiful wedding bouquet of Peonies, Roses, Sweet peas and Astilbe

The handle of the bouquet was bound and then tied with twist knots in blush pink
We'd made Craig a Boutonniere to match his Bride's Bouquet
A sample of the Top Table Swag of fresh flowers designed using fresh Roses, Hydrangeas and Sweet peas with gold candlesticks and votives
A spectacular FD Flower Bomb with the conical vase filled with fresh flowers and topped with floral magnificence, we'd suspended some tea light orbs and surrounded the base with rose gold tea light votives
One of our golden Candelabras was also made as a sample so that Claire & Julie could choose the design they preferred the most, in the end they decided on a mixture using both the Flower Bombs and the Golden Candelabras
At long last the big day had arrived, our Lily, Jason & I were at Claire's parents house bright and early to present the bouquets, layers of tissue protect the bouquets and help keep the cool and the moisture in the box, perfect for a big reveal!

As with all FD Weddings our journey with Caroline and Tom began over a year ago with a 'getting to know each other' meeting, their plans for a magnificent family filled wedding day over at St Mary & St John Southworth Church and the super historic Hoghton Tower were discussed at length and plans were made for them to come back into FD HQ with their informative mood board.

The perfect wedding day takes a huge amount of planning and loads of love and support from friends and family, this gorgeous wedding had both planning and friends and family in abundance.
We first met up for an initial appointment months ago, we chatted through lots of ideas but always came back to their love of the Lake District and more importantly the famous Wainwrights walks, they had walked them all and Gary had proposed to Rachel at the top of Castle Crag, their stunning wedding venue The Merewood Country House Hotel overlooks Lake Windermere and is set in the most beautiful grounds, so our plans developed and our flowers became a celebration of their love for each other and the blissful countryside of the English Lake District...
    ~
Rachel & Gary's fabulous Mood Board complete with references to Wainwright and a plethora of brightly coloured flowers, swatches of Gary's tartan and the pink of the Bridesmaid's gowns were included, we recorded their entire brief in a shared on line document that ensures we're all singing from the same hymn sheet, it includes every detail even a list of their suppliers so that we can follow anything up that needs more detail, we discovered they'd booked the iconic Lake District photographer Tiree Dawson and the legendary DJ Gary Mills so we knew we were in for a great day...
Rachel and her Mum Andrea & Bridesmaid Verity came in to our FD Studio to view the sample designs we'd created, including a voluptuous Bridal Bouquet of English flowers, bound in Gary's own tartan

We have had the most lovely time planning the flowers for this beautiful wedding, we've enjoyed some brilliant appointments with Sarah & her lovely Mum Julie, we learned about their plans for a super stylish wedding day over at St Helen's Church, Waddington with one of my all time favourite Vicars Reverend John Brocklehurst and with the wedding reception at magnificent Eaves Hall the day was destined to be a belter,  if all of that wasn't enough there was the most stunning gown by Augusta Jones from Elizabeth & Camilla at Mears Ghyll Bridal Rooms, Jo and Cass were doing the hair and Harley the make up, they had the legendary photographer Brett Harkness capturing all of the magic and they had the most wonderful fresh flowers...
We'd met up to go through this beautiful mood board, we talked about all of the plans in great detail,  we couldn't wait to see the beautiful cake that Bride's Mum Julie was making
We met up again a few weeks before the wedding to present a set of sample designs, we'd made a sample Bridal bouquet which included a heavenly collection of Lavender and Lilac Roses with fresh Scabious, Peonies,Astrantia, Astilbe, Wax Flower and fresh Herbs and foliages
We tried the bouquet against the Bridesmaids dress

We made a sample tall table design for them to see
Posies of fresh flowers were designed to dress the Pew Ends
A sample of our Reflections Top Table design

On the big day Lily, Tom & I headed off to Eaves Hall to present our Bride and her Bridesmaids with their Bridal Bouquets

I unveiled the box much to the delight of our Bride and her Bridesmaids
A box filled with heavenly fresh flowers

I handed out all of the bouquets

I showed everyone how to carry their bouquets perfectly

Sarah's beautiful wedding bouquet included Roses; Dolcetto, Earl Grey, Fifth Avenue, Silver Lace, Amnesia and Memory Lane, fresh Lily of the Valley, Sweet Peas, Scabious, Wax Flower Blossom, Peonies and fresh Herbs and Eucalyptus

The Bride's Mum's Hand Bag Corsage with fresh Lily of the Valley, Veronica, Albiflora, Snowflake Rose Buds, Astrantia, Nigella and ax Flower Blossom

Julie looked absolutely fabulous the most glamorous Bride's Mum
Our team headed off to St Helen's Church where we dressed the door arch with a magnificent garland of fresh Hydrangeas, Roses, Jasmine, Sweet Peas and Peonies

Inside this magnificent Church four pedestal designs framed the space exquisitely

Posies of fresh Roses, Lissianthus, peonies and Sweet Peas dressed the pew ends

Lily and I lined up all of the boutonnieres ready to pin them on to the Groom's Men

The Bride Groom's rather special Boutonniere included lots of elements used in the Bridal Bouquet

The Groom's Mum's Blush & Ivory Corsage of Rolled Petals miniature Roses and Veronica created for Sheila
Simpel Rose Boutonnieres for Nana Frances and Auntie Vera
Sarah's super handsome Bride Groom Barry was first to have his Boutonniere pinned to his lapel

We'd bound the stem of the boutonniere in navy blue ribbon to match the Groom's suit
We pinned on all of the Groom's Men's Boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly

The Groom's super proud Mum Sheila looked lovely
     The Groom's Dad Lance

     Fresh fragrant Rose Petal Confetti

We always provide the lovely Vicar with a boutonniere
I'd helped Rev John choose a stole to match the bridal colours and the boutonniere we'd created for him
The gorgeous Brides Mum & Bridesmaids arrived in vintage style in a Malvern Wedding Car
Thankfully there's a rather large Lytch Gate at St Helen's so our beautiful Bridesmaids could shelter from the rain
The Bridesmaid's carried smaller versions . of the Bridal Bouquet

The arrival of the Bride showered with blessings from above

The exquisite Bridal Bouquet of lavender Roses, Peonies, Sweet Peas and Lily of the Valley
Our fabulous Groom's Men provided an umbrella canopy for the Bridal party
