Epic Posting of Cheryl & Anthony's Autumn Wedding Flowers at Hyde Bank Farm

0

I make no apology for the ludicrous quantity of flower images I have included in this post, our designs were very typically autumnal, tons of texture, a plethora of naturally seasonal materials helped us to create a gorgeous variety of creations, we really did have the very best of times making these spectacular designs.
Thankfully Cheryl & Anthony, who were an absolute joy to work with and made our endeavours an absolute pleasure, they gave us the most wonderful brief to work to: To create a magical autumn woodland of romantic and unique designs in an unusual collection of natural and seasonal materials.
They had booked a stellar team of great wedding professionals...

Hair by Leah from The Colour Room Studio

We'd never been to Hyde Bank Farm in Stockport so a site visit was planned in July
We took a few snaps and endeavoured to visualise the spaces and views with a November eye
The ceremony room

The obligatory selfie with Jason, Renske, Cheryl & Leah
Our next appointment was to showcase our suggestions and ideas, Cheryl had provided us with a small folder filled to bursting with mood board ideas, a different format for us but equally as effective and inspiring as a traditional mood board.
All of our creations were made with autumnal flowers, berries and foliages.
Candles and glass domes filled with fairy lights were planned

The sample bridal bouquet made just for Cheryl
Soft romantic shades with fresh autumn berries and foliages
Beautiful Succulents and fresh fragrant herbs
The sample Groom's Boutonniere for Anthony
We'd used Rolled Rose Petals, Succulents, contorted Willow, Astrantia and Berries in the Groom's sample boutonniere
The stem of the boutonniere was bound with jute string
At last the big day arrived, we were up bright and early and the bouquets were boxed up at FD HQ
Jason & I headed off to Magpie Cottages in Marple to deliver the Bridal Bouquets
Our lovely Bride was absolutely delighted with her bouquet

I showed all of the Bridesmaids how to carry their bouquets perfectly

The wedding venue Hyde Bank Farm looked just as lovely in November as it had back in July

In the entrance area we'd dressed the low bar tables with lanterns and fresh fragrant Rose Petals, all of the guests would wait here ahead of going up to the ceremony room

Cheryl's fabulous Bride Groom Anthony was first to have his rathe special boutonniere pinned to his lapel

I pinned on all of the Groom's Men's boutonnieres ensuring each one was in the right position on their lapels

All of the boutonnieres were created in a unique clustered style of seasonal berries and foliages, they were all bound with jute.
Upstairs in the ceremony room the scene was set, two of our Enchanted Trees framed the Registrars table, candlelit lanterns and hanging orbs illuminated the space so romantically

The Registrars table was dressed with a voluptuous design of fresh flowers and foliages

Downstairs we'd lined up the rest of the Boutonnieres and corsages ready to attach to the lapels of the special guests

'King Proteas' for Debbie & Liam King's November Wedding Day at Ashfield House

This is such a unique and beautiful wedding, we'd had a huge amount of fun with Debbie & Liam planning their flowers for this gorgeous day, we'd seen them both at weddings earlier in the year and knew them (and they are gorgeous) and their group of friends well, which is always a very good start.

As many of you will know we always work hard to include some key flowers and materials that are significant to our bridal couples, for Debbie & Liam we had a few very clear ideas,  not least their married name of 'King'. I introduced Debbie & Liam to magnificent King Proteas, thankfully they absolutely adored them and they quickly became their signature flower, they also wanted to be respectful to the date of their wedding 11th November so we included fresh Poppy seed heads in the Groom's Boutonniere and the Bridal Bouquet.
n.b. I don't always mention particularly sensitive flower choices, as so often these things are private and not for 'blog posts' but do know this, every bouquet includes some truly personal and evocative blooms or foliages that mean something important to our couples.
When Debbie & Liam came in to view their sample bridal designs it was the first time they'd seen King Protea in real life, it was such a relief to show them off and to find they loved them xxx

Liam's sample Boutonniere included a Poppy Seed Head, Succulent, Bridal Blush Protea, Champagne Grass and foliages
The sample Bridal Bouquet of Proteas, Roses, Succulents, Thistles and foliages
One of the table centre options featured one of our verdi gris Lanterns filled with Proteas and autumnal materials

So massive congratulations to these two beautiful people, Sarah & Luke. I feel it's important to prepare you for this gargantuan post, filled to bursting as it is with the most glorious fresh summer flowers. As many of you lovely readers will know I am appalling at editing and post far too many beautiful flower pics, this particular post takes that to a whole other level.
I make no apology as this post is a labour of love, it celebrates the stupendous wedding of the lovely Sarah and her Luke, we've known Sarah since she was about 5 years old, her lovely Mum Sue & fabulous Dad Mike are some of our oldest friends, so what a huge privilege and honour it was to not only create beautiful flowers but to be there to see these two tie the knot surrounded by floral splendour!!xxxx
Now Sarah & Luke live in Dubai so we arranged appointments for during her home visits and enjoyed many a long distance conversation. It really was a joy to see her face when I presented her with her sample wedding bouquet, we'd used a collection of Peonies including "Sarah Bernhardt" to honour our Bride's name

High Summer & A Profusion of Colour for Fran & Stuart's Glorious Wedding Day at St Cuthbert's Church Lytham & The Pavillion in Ashton Garden's

0
0
This wedding day is the perfect tonic for today, rain is pounding on our roof here in Keystone Court but I'm basking in the reflected glow of Fran & Stuart's flower filled summer sunshine wedding day, what a magical day this was for everyone.

We had a plethora of great people to work with not least their fabulous photographer and family friend Graham Watson, there was a sensational gown from the great folks at Indie Bride London, we loved the relaxed catering at The Pavillion in Ashton Gardens, Philip & Corrin and their team did such a great job...

I will start this mega post by warning you, it's a long one, it's a magnificent one, bulging at the seams with joyful summer flowers, it's hedonistic for sure, if you're a flower lover or in fact a lover it's all here!!
There really is so much love here, so many tales to tell, I hope you'll feel that as you scroll lazily through our flower snaps. We love Fran's family, they are the best of the best, I feel that's somewhat of an understatement, we've known them now for over ten years and we absolutely adore them, their home is just wonderful, our Dutch florist Renske commented it's exactly the sort of house she thought all English families lived in, filled with love, comfort, food and warmth and that's exactly how we all feel about them as people too (apart from the food bit), so if ever there was a family that deserved the 'right weather' and the 'perfect day' the Hellier's are it.
We've been lucky enough to create flowers for Fran's sisters Catherine & Jenny, here's a link to Catherine & Stephen's twilight wedding and a link to Jennifer & Harry's Whitewell wedding day, having completed the hat-trick we're now aiming for a vow renewal for Richard & Jill, now that really would make my year!!!.
~
So as is our way we asked Stuart & Fran to put together a mood board to show us their ideas, they were eclectic, they were colourful, ultimately they were just them...

We gathered the whole family into our studio and showed them a collection of sample ideas, realising their mood board and whetting their appetites for more...
We all loved this wild meadow gathered bouquet a profusion of colour, fragrance and texture
Stuart's boutonniere a miniature version of his Bride's bouquet

Ideas for Church decorations and table designs were all displayed for their (& our) pleasure
The very best of English garden flowers

Gloriously fragrant and refreshing herbs

So at long last the big day arrived, the bouquets were all boxed up and ready for presentation

The lovely Alexandra Clare MUA was making our gorgeous Bride even lovelier
The family's Land Rover got a make over
The Land Rover was dressed with ribbons and foliage garlands
We headed off to the super iconic Lytham Church of St Cuthbert's where we decorated their famous Lych gate in a very relaxed and casual style
Long trails of Passion Flower and Honeysuckle 'wisped' around the structure

The doorway was framed by a collection of fresh herbs, Bay, Rosemary, Mint, Thyme, Lavender, Chamomile, Marjoram, Oregano, Dille and Sage the fragrance was just heavenly

Posies of fresh meadow flowers were hung on hooks lining the pathway set amid the fragrant lavender, the entire church yard was a buzz with bees and butterflies they were only interested in the flowers and not the people thankfully xx

Inside the porch fresh flowers greeted the guests
This really is a majestic Church, the space is just wonderful and even better enhanced by our candlelit pedestals created in the same relaxed style with fresh Iris, Delphiniums, Peonies, Roses, Astilbe, Stocks, Sweet Peas, Jasmine & Passion Flowers, the warmth from the candle carrying the sweet fragrances all around the Church

Posies of Roses, Sweet Williams, Love in the Mist, Astilbe, Peonies, Sweet Peas and Alchemilla Mollis dressed each alternate pew end lining the aisle

The posies on the pews included a magical collection of fragrant herbs making the walk down the aisle a scented feast for the senses

Wild Garlic, Chasmanthium, Scabious, Peonies, Delphiniums, Roses, Craspedia, Astilbe, Eryngium and all sorts of summer fabulousness greeted the guests in the porch as they arrived.
We lined up the Boutonnieres, each one individually crafted to compliment the tone of the whole day
Fresh Ferns, Lavender, Rosemary, Marjoram, Love in the Mist and Blackberries clustered together to create a unique Boutonniere

Fran's super handsome Bride Groom Stuart was first to have his Boutonniere pinned to his lapel.

I pinned on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly

Here come the gorgeous girls, the Bridesmaids and flower girls in cool summer cotton frocks carrying bouquets of wild summer flowers, each one unique and different

Just loving the relaxed way these flowers are arranged, we wanted them to look very natural almost as though they had grown there.

The front door was framed by two Milk Churns filled with fresh flowers

Spectacular English Delphiniums, Larkspur, Fragrant Stocks, Dahlias, Peonies and a whole host of summer gorgeousness filled the Milk Churns

Once inside this beautiful little church the guests were greeted with more floral loveiness on the font

Pew end posies of fresh Herbs, Grasses, Love in the Mist and Lavender decorated the aisle

The two stone urns framing the ceremony space were filled with spectacularly tall designs of Delphiniums, Larkspur and fragrant foliages

I love how this bouquet looks so exquisitely summery!!

The celebrations moved next door to the marquee at The Inn at Whitewell, the Milk Churns were moved to take pride of place framing the marquee entrance

We'd created a tableau around the seating plan with stacked up crates, fresh fragrant herbs and a swag attached to our easel holding the plan

The marquee looked magnificent with spectacularly tall table designs created in a meadow style with English Delphiniums and Stocks reaching for the sky, fabulous trails of fresh Jasmine & Passion Flower tumbling down to the table top.

The Top Table featured an abundance of fragrant flowers including Lavender, Peppermint, Dill and Rosemary, with fresh Fox Gloves, Clematis, Jasmine, Peonies & Hydrangeas completing the look.

Fresh Herbs decorated each napkin

We'd used the Bridesmaid's Bouquets in small milk churns on some of the tables alongside the pew end posies

The Wedding Cake was dressed with slender garlands of Rosemary, Oregano, Peppermint,  Lavender and Eucalyptus and was topped with a small cluster of Delphinium Florets, Lavender and Love in the Mist

Ellie & Kristian's Covid Wedding at St Cuthbert's Church

This beautiful wedding is our first full-on super duper wedding since lockdown.  It was an under 30 person wedding with all of the bells and whistles of a 150 guest wedding. 'Social Distancing' was of course adhered to, masks were worn, hands were sanitised but all in the very best taste. I've shared some of their brilliant ideas, terrific tips to retain romance whilst keeping everyone Covid safe, I hope they'll be helpful to those of you planning weddings soon.
~
Firstly it's important to say, this post is of epic proportions, so be warned, please don't embark on this blog voyage if you don't have time, if you do you'll be sorry, just saying!!!
I must tell you all just how fabulous this family is and just how much we adore them. We've known the beautiful Ellie since she was a tiny girl. Her gorgeous Mum Diane is one of our all-time favourite and best Flower Design customers, so much so, that a bit like Madonna, no surname is required, flowers for Diane are simply that, flowers for our Diane!! Both Ellie & Diane have the very best taste particularly when it comes to flowers, they aren't just flower lovers though, they are the very best of people, and we feel very blessed to have them in our lives.
So we pulled our team out of furlough for one week only. We were all delighted to be back in the FD studio, to be surrounded by a stupendously glorious collection of flowers and to be making flowers for Ellie & Kristian was indeed a privilege...
~
Part of the joy of this wedding was re-connecting with other wedding suppliers. These are the folks we work with daily, people we work alongside, sometimes physically, sometimes we just know they're part of the big and beautiful picture, the production. We are all cast members being directed by our Bridal couples and their families. We are all far more remarkable for the team effort, so here's the cast list, the ace team that made this day happen...
The brilliant Adam Joe Roberts, a superb photographer and an absolute pleasure to work alongside, unbelievably we worked together on the last wedding we did before lockdown for Laura & Patrick, and their pictures are sublime.
The Makeup and Hair Team did the most beautiful work, Jemma Cowell and Stephen, at The Hair Studio in Poulton.
The Gorgeous gown was by Rosario and shoes by Jimmy Choo.
The guys super smart suits were from Moss Bros, Ties, Pocket Squares and Masks were all made from Liberty London print.
The stationery was by the super gorgeous Ellie at Silk Beau.
The food and that was an experience in itself, entirely off the scale by all accounts, the chefs Eve & Brian from Be Chocolate, their front of house team led by Greg were exceptional too.
Chan from Sing Out Music is a huge favourite of ours, and it really was an immense pleasure to hear her sing.
The beautiful Marquee was from Ken at CK Marquees.
~
Now for Flowers in all of their glory enjoy...
Cafe au Lait Dahlias our Bride's favourite flower
Mont Martre Roses
Sweet-scented Stocks
Sunshine White Sweet Peas the Bride's Mum's favourite flower
White Verena Hydrangeas
Westminster Abbey Roses
Amnesia Roses
Quicksand Roses
Avalanche Roses from Meijer Roses
Royal Porcelina Roses
Our work stations were all covid friendly, all our tools labelled, hand sanitiser, desk cleaners all to the ready, most importantly we had a fully stocked tuck basket each.
We all got to work creating floral magnificence, back where we belong in the FD studio...
I had the most glorious time making Ellie's wedding bouquet.
In the FD Studio, making a beautiful Wedding Bouquet for our gorgeous Bride Ellie was heavenly. In the last 6 months, I've made just one other (we should have completed over 200) the rarity makes it all the more precious. Making a bouquet for Ellie, a bride we've known since she was a little girl, a bride who holds a special place in our hearts makes this moment beyond precious. We don't just make flowers, we make memories, and we make those flower memories with bucket loads of love and deep affection. I'd chosen flowers with particular significance, a Rose named Patience, Rosemary for Remembrance, Olive for peace and in recognition of the Italian wedding that should have been, Sweet Peas the Bride's Mum's favourite flower, Penelope Eustoma, Dahlia' Cafe au lait' our Bride's favourite flower, Eucalyptus to calm everyone, Love in the Mist and so much more besides
Shirl & I making the garland for the lych gate, we'd used the most fragrant collection of fresh herbs and foliage with Roses and Hydrangeas.

On Friday afternoon, we headed off to dress the Marquee with majestic, floral and foliage chandeliers.
The Marquee was provided by the great folks from CK Marquees.

The following morning at the crack of dawn, we were back at the Marquee with the table flowers.
Each section was numbered, so fitting it together like a jigsaw was a delight.

Eve & Brian from Be Chocolate were busy making breakfasts for everyone.
The wedding bouquets were boxed up and ready for presentation.

I do love the presentation of the wedding bouquets, it's a joy introducing all of the fresh flowers to our beautiful Bride and her Bridesmaids.

Penelope is so adorable, we'd made her a small pomander of fresh flowers to compliment Ellie's wedding Bouquet.

We dressed the front of Diane's house with a gorgeous design created to frame the front door.

The Bride's Grandad's cars were lined up outside, ready for the short drive to St Cuthbert's Church.
By 7am we were at Church preparing to dress the doorway and the lych gate

We loved this sign welcoming the guests and reminding them what it's all about...
Social Distancing Is temporary, Love is Permanent. This sign just outside the Church door welcomed the guests at Ellie & Kristian's wedding on Saturday. Everything had been considered, the guests were gifted face masks made from beautiful Liberty print fabric. Their hands were sanitised with a lovely Neom Organics hand gel, and the pews were separated with beautiful garlands of fresh Eucalyptus, Ivy and Gypsophilia.
Beautifully fragranced hand sanitiser
The Liberty Print Masks
Sphere's of Hydrangeas, Dahlias, Roses and Gypsophila, framed the ceremony space, the pews were dressed with garlands of foliage, Gypsophilia and Dahlias.
We'd garlanded the pews with fresh foliages and flowers, ensuring proper social distancing the pews were blocked off between those where the guests could sit.

The Lychgate looked so welcoming dressed with a full and fabulous garland of foliage, fragrant herbs, Roses and Hydrangeas.

The cutest ever red carper roller outers...

The Bride Groom Kristian arrived in vintage style.
Ellie's super handsome Bride Groom Kristian was wearing a boutonnière to compliment his Bride's Bouquet and to coordinate perfectly with his tie & pocket square from Liberty London his classic 3 piece suit was from Moss Bros.

There was a welcoming committee waiting for our Bride to arrive, everyone was distanced and in family bubbles.

The coolest Mum ever driving her beautiful daughter to Church...

Then there was a Baptism.

The bells!!!
Fresh fragrant Rose Petal Confetti, completely joyous...

Kristian driving his Bride from Church...
So this Marquee! It just looked spectacular, 14 people on the table in the foreground and 13 people on the tables in the background, everyone seated in their bubbles...
The hanging floral chandeliers looked and smelled absolutely fantastic.

Beautiful Wedding Cake by Cheryl from Too Nice to Slice

The beautiful stationery was by Ellie from Silk Beau.
Each place setting was dressed with a sprig of fresh Olive & Rosemary symbolising Peace & Remembrance.

The canapes looked so delicious by the Be Chocolate Team.

The Beautiful Chan from Sing Out Music

At night the candles were lit, and if it were possible, the Marquee looked even more magical.

Thank you to Diane, Ellie & Kristian for allowing us to be a small part of an incredible day we loved every second of it xxxx
