It was such a pleasure to make the lovely Amy's Baby Shower flowers on Sunday, we'd made her wedding flowers last Spring when Amy married Ben, celebrating their nuptials at the fabulous Grand Hotel in St Annes Link and now just over a year later we were back at The Grand in The Salon for Amy's Baby Shower, it was like getting the band back together with the lovely Ellie from Silk Beau supplying the stationery and Ava Rose Cakes providing the delicious looking cake

We'd arranged Pink & Ivory, Peonies, English Garden Roses, Hydrangeas, Stocks and Astilbe into three mirrored cubes to dress the tables
I chose flowers that would remind Amy of her Wedding Bouquet
Beautiful fresh Peonies and English Garden Roses

We scattered a few fresh fragrant Rose Petals on the drinks table

Our beautiful Baby Shower Girl Amy

Many thanks to Amy and all of her lovely family for choosing Flower Design Events to create fresh flowers for such a special occasion

As with all FD Weddings our journey with Caroline and Tom began over a year ago with a 'getting to know each other' meeting, their plans for a magnificent family filled wedding day over at St Mary & St John Southworth Church and the super historic Hoghton Tower were discussed at length and plans were made for them to come back into FD HQ with their informative mood board.
    ~
The Mood Board appointment is essential, learning about our Bride & Groom's vision for their day is imperative, discovering their ideas, colour palette, favourite flowers, Bridal gown, Bridesmaids and Groom's attire information is all presented on an A1 board, details like Mum's outfit's, stationery, music and chair cover information is just so helpful.
Caroline & Tom's board was superb and inspired us to create some beautiful designs for them to see at their 'Sample appointment' a few weeks before their wedding day.

We'd made a gorgeous sample wedding bouquet for Caroline it complimented her gown perfectly, we'd included fresh Lily of the Valley, English Garden Roses Keira and White O'Hara along side some beautiful Tea Rose and Floribunda Roses, sweet scented Lily of the Valley, Misty Sweet Peas and Pink Peonies in soft vintage shades of Rose Pink, Mushroom and mink shades

The perfect wedding day takes a huge amount of planning and loads of love and support from friends and family, this gorgeous wedding had both planning and friends and family in abundance.
We first met up for an initial appointment months ago, we chatted through lots of ideas but always came back to their love of the Lake District and more importantly the famous Wainwrights walks, they had walked them all and Gary had proposed to Rachel at the top of Castle Crag, their stunning wedding venue The Merewood Country House Hotel overlooks Lake Windermere and is set in the most beautiful grounds, so our plans developed and our flowers became a celebration of their love for each other and the blissful countryside of the English Lake District...
    ~
Rachel & Gary's fabulous Mood Board complete with references to Wainwright and a plethora of brightly coloured flowers, swatches of Gary's tartan and the pink of the Bridesmaid's gowns were included, we recorded their entire brief in a shared on line document that ensures we're all singing from the same hymn sheet, it includes every detail even a list of their suppliers so that we can follow anything up that needs more detail, we discovered they'd booked the iconic Lake District photographer Tiree Dawson and the legendary DJ Gary Mills so we knew we were in for a great day...
Rachel and her Mum Andrea & Bridesmaid Verity came in to our FD Studio to view the sample designs we'd created, including a voluptuous Bridal Bouquet of English flowers, bound in Gary's own tartan

We'd made a rather splendid Boutonniere including lots of the lovely elements used in Rachel's wedding bouquet
A suggestion for the Top Table Design
Ideas for the centre of the guest tables including Gary's prize volumes of Wainwrights walks

The Big day arrived and Jason headed out bright and early to present the wedding bouquets

Jason showed the girls how to carry their bouquets perfectly
The lovely Katie Tweedale was fixing the fresh flowers into our Bride's hair, she'd did a beautiful job of everyone's hair
Downstairs the scene was set for the ceremony
Bundles of Gypsophilia were tied with voile ribbon and attached to the chairs lining the aisle
The Registrars table was farmed by stacks of bulb and apple crates, candlelit lanterns, pots of fresh herbs and posies of beautiful English blooms

On the Registrars table Jason had arranged a series of tree slices and topped them with little collections of bottles and jars filled with fresh flowers

    Larkspur & Dancing Grasses

The beautifully relaxed wedding bouquet of Earl Grey Roses, white Peonies, Silver Lace Floribunda Roses, Astilbe, Forget Me Nots, Veronica, Albiflora, Olive, Sweet Peas and Eryngium with a fabulous collection of Eucalyptus varieties, Acacia and Peppermint.

Our Bride and Bridesmaids were busy having hair and make up done so our Chloe arranged to go back up to the Bridal Suite to do the FD wedding bouquet carrying tutorial a little later
Down in porch Chloe lined up the boutonnieres ready to pin them to the lapels of the Groom and his Groom's Men

The seriously special Bride Groom's Silver Lace Rose Boutonniere

Vicky's super handsome Bride Groom Kevin was first to have his boutonniere pinned to his lapel
Chloe pinned on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly

Inside the ceremony room at the fabulous Mitton Hall the scene was set with two of our Baroque candelabras  marking the start of the aisle
Our candlelit hurricane lanterns were surrounded by Rose Petals and Eucalyptus leaves lined the aisle

The main Registrars table was dressed with a gorgeous swag of fresh Eucalyptus, Olive, Peonies and Hydrangeas
Two more of our Baroque candelabras framed the Registrars table perfectly

Posies of fresh Gypsophilia decorated the smaller Registrars table
