We had such a lovely time planning the flowers for Gemma & Neel's Wedding Day, I was so pleased to be there on the day to present the Bridal Bouquets, I'd tracked down our gorgeous Bride to the fabulous Bridal preparation Room at The Villa in Wrea Green
I handed over the bridal bouquet and showed everyone how to carry their bouquets perfectly

Mum's beautiful Corsage of  Bubbles Roses, Hydrangea florets and Veronica

The Bridal Bouquets were created to match, the Bridesmaid's bouquet being a smaller version of the Bride's Bouquet

We headed across the Green to St Nicholas Church where the heavens had opened pouring showers of blessing all over the day!!!xx

We'd decorated the arch with a garland of foliage and Gypsophilia our Bride's favourite flower

Posies of Dahlias, Stocks, Veronica and Forget Me Nots dressed each alternate Pew End lining the aisle

We lined up the Boutonnieres ready to pin them on the Bride Groom Neel and his Groom's Men

Today we were over at Browsholme Hall & Tithe Barn for their Open Day, we'd dressed the dining tables and brought along a few bridal bouquets. Our designs today were all created from Autumnal materials, a fabulous collection of rich vibrant flowers, berries, autumn foliages and Pumpkins.
This really is a very special wedding venue, Browsholme Hall looks perfect with any colour and absolutely any theme but I always think seasonal designs reflect the setting the best.
Our central design was a hugely tall extravagant design in shades of deep plum, ivory and mauve with a vast array of white pumpkins at the base, loads of suspended candles in glass orbs were hanging from the fresh flowers illuminating the table beautifully

We'd arranged a couple of pedestal designs around the room just to show how successfully table designs can be transformed into Church pedestals or ceremony dressings

The Top table looked wonderful dressed with a voluptuous design featuring fresh Phalaenopsis Orchids, Hydrangeas, Roses and Snowberry
One of our  magical lanterns was dressed with blush pink Sweet Avalanche Roses, Orchids, Freesia, Arabicum, Pink Peppercorns and Succulents creating the perfect table centre

Love this design featuring a low tree stump with fresh flowers and foliages growing up around the design

Our autumnal Enchanted Pumpkin Tree looked magnificent dressed with Chinese Lanterns, Rose Hips, Tom Pearce Chrysanthemums, Roses & Dahlias with a massive collection of Pumpkins and Gourds around it's base

The perfect design for a Halloween wedding day

Deep rich red and green Rose & Hydrangeas with Winter Evergreens topped one of our conical vases, the base was surrounded by white table vases in direct contrast to the top of the design

We'd brought along a collection of fresh wedding bouquets and boutonnieres for people to try and also an example of one of our Mood Boards from a wedding at Browsholme Hall back in the summer, here's a link to wedding featured on the mood board
Gorgeous winter Wedding bouquet of deep red roses, Astilbe, Dahlias and fliages

One of our Golden Byzantine table candelabras dressed with white Hydrangeas, Blue Eryngium & delphinium with White Roses

This really was a beautiful day, the lovely Hannah & her Bridesmaids were all getting ready in the Bridal Cottage in the courtyard at one of our all time favourite venues the fabulous Bartle Hall, Hannah had chosen a soft and romantic colour palette of blush and pale pinks, ivory and white shades. In Hannah's gorgeous wedding bouquet we used our most adored flower varieties English Garden Roses, Tea Roses, Peonies, Astilbe, Sweet Peas and Lily of the valley a truly heavenly collection.
But before we got to create that gorgeous wedding bouquet, there was a whole host of planning meetings, my favourite meeting was when the lovely Hannah brought in her super detailed mood board, it included a massive array of fabulous images and ideas to help us create a set of sample designs ready for our next meeting.
For the sample meeting we'd prepared some lovely designs for Hannah to see including table designs, a wedding bouquet and boutonniere

At long last the big day arrived, I loved the choice of blooms I'd used Keira, Patience and White Cloud English Garden Roses all of them sweet scented with a myriad of fluttery petals ...
We introduced Hannah to all of the exquisite blooms in her wedding bouquet, we made the most of the sunshine and did the carrying lesson in the courtyard, ahh the heady days of summer seem like a distant memory on this snowy December Monday.

Watercolour Shades of Soft Peach, Corals and Pale Blue for Anna & Richard's Stunningly Detailed Wedding at St Stephen in the Banks & Hurlston Hall

$

This blog post has been a labour of love, I've thoroughly enjoyed re-visiting this wonderful and magical day.
We've had such a brilliant time working with these two gorgeous folks together with Anna's lovely cousin Claire we've enjoyed a number of meetings some at FD HQ and also over at Hurlston Hall , planning the fresh flowers for this spectacular day was a really important part of their plans and as such needed to be treated with care, respect and patience...
After our initial first fact finding meeting we got together again with this fabulous mood board a thoroughly detailed board with no stone left un-turned created by Anna, we loved the stationery, the water colour shades seemed like the perfect place to start with fresh flower shades ...

We commenced our plans with one of our FD Flower Palettes a collection of blooms in shades to compliment the mood board, we'd included some pale blue Hydrangeas, Love in the Mist, Coral Peonies, Vuvuezela Roses and some beautifully fragrant Apricot Stocks once we arrived at their wedding date in late July seasonal additions were added into the mix some gorgeous powder blue Delphiniums, fragrant Jasmine, David Austin's Juliet Roses, Sweet Peas and Veronica...

The next step was to invite our Bride and Groom to come in to FD HQ to view a set of sample designs created exclusively for them, we made a sample Bridal Bouquet for Anna, a Boutonniere for Richard to try and some sample table centres too

At last the big day arrived and I presented two FD boxes filled with glorious Bridal bouquets...

We decided that I'd take the little Flower Girl's Posies to Church and we'd hand them over just before the ceremony

The quintessentially English country Church of St Stephen in the Banks
Inside this lovely Church the scene was set for the ceremony
Posies of fresh Delphiniums, Hydrangeas, Roses, Love in the Mist and Stocks decorated each alternate pew end lining the aisle

Gorgeous voluptuous pedestals framed the altar and the ceremony space perfectly, we'd chosen shades to compliment the pale duck egg blue walls and vibrant stained glass windows.
We'd included a sumptuous collection of all that is great and good in European gardens in July
Fresh pale blue Hydrangeas were teamed with Coral Peonies, Apricot Stocks, Delphiniums, Veronica, Roses and Nigella topped our magnificent stone Urns and pedestal stands

I loved this huge vase of garden flowers brought in by one one of the parishioners

Next I lined up all of the Corsages and Boutonnieres ready to pin them on and attach them to their new owners.
Anna's cousin Claire's beautiful wrist corsage designed to compliment her black and floral dress
The Groom's Mum Sandra's corsage in silver greys and ivory shades
The Bride Groom's super special Boutonniere featured a Juliet Rose with Love in the Mist, Delphiniums and rolled Sensation Rose Petals

Anna's super handsome Bride Groom Richard was first to have his Boutonniere pinned to his lapel
The proportion of the boutonniere was just perfect with our tall Bride Groom Richard, we'd bound the stem with silver bullion to match his cufflinks and wedding ring.
I pinned on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly

Each boutonniere was designed to fit the height and build of each Groom's Man

Claire's wrist corsage of Roses, Waxflower and Hydrangea florets complimented her black dress with mushroom toned florals perfectly, it really is so helpful when our Bride's supply images of their important ladies outfits, it's quite a challenge to find the the right shades for each one, but a huge thrill when things match up as beautifully as this one.
Claire looked fabulous
We lined up the Flower Girl's 'Nosegay' bouquets ready to hand them over
The shades of fresh flowers matched the watercolour floral paintings on the stationery designed by Kim from Pingle Pie perfectly

The adorable little Flower Girls looked wonderful carrying tiny nosegays of fresh Roses, Sweet Peas, Delphiniums and Love in the Mist, Claire's little girl looks exactly like her lovely Mum and behaved impeccably in the very important role of Flower Girl, I could hire her out!!!xxxx

Too adorable for words...

Oh so gorgeous xx

The Flower Girl's Nosegays were made to size to fit each of the girls heights and ages, remarkably all five of them carried them pretty much all of the time xxx
Beautiful xxx
The fabulously glamorous Groom's Mum Sandra her ensemble completed with her silvery grey corsage of Rose buds, Hydrangea Florets and Senecio
We'd attached Sandra's Corsage with a magnet so as not to make a hole in her jacket, it really did look perfect with her grey suit.
The Bride's lovely Mum Linda was wearing a corsage created from the same flowers I'd used to make the Bride's bouquet, we'd rolled the individual Rose petals so as to get the deeper corally shade in to match her lipstick and nail varnish shade

The gorgeous Bridesmaids were next to arrive wearing midnight blue gowns and carrying beautiful bouquets of Roses, Peonies and Love in the Mist created as smaller versions of the Bride's bouquet

The Bridesmaids were wearing fresh matching flowers in their hair too

Our Bride arrived in style with her super proud Dad Noel

The little ones waited patiently with Claire in the church door way...

Anna looked absolutely breathtakingly beautiful she was wearing a stunning gown from Boutique Bride in Crosby
I do love this wedding bouquet of fresh Coral Peonies, David Austin's Juliet Roses, Vuvuezela, fresh Lily of the Valley, Hydrangea Florets, Chasmanthium Latifolia, Love in the Mist, Sweet Peas and Veronica

Our beautiful Bride Anna was also wearing fresh flowers in her hair, just enough to bring the colours through her entire ensemble

Completely adorable, she really did steel everyone's hearts...

Massive Congratulations to Anna & Richard from all of the team here at Flower Design Events

Ready in the porch was a basket of fresh Rose Petal Confetti to shower on the happy couple
The professional photographer for the day was the lovely Matthew Rycraft we had such a lovely day working with him xx

Our Bride and Groom were showered with fresh cool fragrant Rose Petals, every Bride should know what that feels like!!!...

The celebrations moved on to the newly built Hurlston Hall the venue for the wedding reception

A warm welcome awaited the guests with fresh floral swags dressing the signs so perfectly
The beautiful graphics continued on to the tables and seating plan which we dressed with a fresh floral swag continuing the watercolour and fresh flower themes of the day
The wedding reception room looked wonderful, it's bright, open and airy with spectacular views across the countryside and golf course, the tables were dressed with a combination of high and low table designs

Our tall elegant glass column vases were topped with floral magnificence in magical watercolour shades
The Top table featured a collection of posies in vases set on mirrors illuminated by floating candles and silver candlesticks

The Bride's bouquet took up residence in the centre of the top table creating a gorgeous feature
The beautiful semi naked wedding cake had been created by Claire's hubby Gary it smelled delicious, each tier was a different flavour including Lemon, Raspberry and white Chocolate if memory serves me right, we'd dressed it with a fresh flower topper incorporating all of the flowers used in the bridal bouquets and smaller corsages on the lower tiers
The very proud Cake Maker Gary, I think he should enter our FD Bake Off next year

Some of the guest tables were decorated with a collection of posies in small glass column vases to match their taller counterparts on other tables
Glass orbs with tea lights were suspended from the taller table designs and each table was dressed with candlelit votives and palest blue table sequins

Bouquets ready for presentation to the two Mum's were placed just behind the top table so our Bride Groom could hand them over easily

Guest tables were decorated with collections of small posies of fresh flowers in low column vases set on mirrors and surrounded by silver tea light votives

The attention to detail was boundless Anna really had thought of everything...

The guests were enjoying a reception of drinks and canapes in the sunshine by the lake

The flower themes and stationery graphics were applied to everything providing continuity and familiarity, I really appreciate this kind of detailing

Our work here was done it was time to leave the wedding party in full swing, huge thanks to Anna & Richard and both of their fabulous families for choosing FD Events to create their wedding flowers for them, we loved it all!!! xxxx

Oh we've laughed and we've cried with this amazing family, such an emotional time filled to bursting with love and adoration (& flowers), sometimes you meet people and you realise what a privilege it is to the job we do, to be so involved in their stories at an important time of their lives, to literally share in their joy really is a huge honour, I along with our fabulous FD Team loved creating flowers for these two beautiful people, I can promise without exception everything we made was created with huge hearts and big love for the whole family, I have adored re-visiting this seriously special day, it's been like completing a fabulous book with a really happy ending, thank you!!!!...
So following on from our very first riotous meeting where all sorts of things were chatted about and we all got to know each other, we arranged to get together again with Katie, David and Kevin & Julie the Bride's fabulous parents to discuss this wonderful and superbly executed Mood Board
We put together a Flower Palette, a suggestion of the blend of flowers we'd be using to compliment their spectacular mood board, I'd included fresh Love in the Mist, Dill, Blue Hydrangeas, Quicksand Roses, White Peonies and Forget Me Nots, there would be further additions once we were closer to their wedding date...
We met up again a few weeks before the big day to present a glorious set of sample Bridal Designs including a beautiful sample wedding bouquet for Katie and a Boutonniere for David

We created some sample ideas for their table centres and finalised plans for the day itself, working out logistics and timings
An idea for the top table
A suggestion to utilise the Bridal Bouquets
A sample of our Baroque Candelabra, we make these sample designs to show an over view of the look we're going for, nothing can ever be re-created exactly but it helps us all to understand the bits that are important, how big things are, what they smell like, to have foliage or not, more or less colour etc etc
Before we knew it, their wedding day had arrived and Jason had the huge pleasure of presenting the Bridal Bouquets to our ridiculously gorgeous (& emotional) Bride the lovely Katie and her fabulous Bridesmaids Sarah & Hannah, Jason showed this bevvy of beauty how to carry their bouquets perfectly xxx
This really was a heavenly wedding bouquet packed with stunning sweet scented, summer flowers in soft shades of blue, ivory and nude tones, I'd included white Peonies, Love in the Mist, Delphiniums, Sweet Peas, Roses, Poppy Seed Heads, Freesia, Forget Me Nots and Hydrangeas with foliages and fresh Herbs.

Loved everyone's hair by Kelly & Natalie from Sam Taylor in Lytham and their make up was by the lovely Sonara Parker
Downstairs in the ceremony room at the magical Eaves Hall the scene was set with our candlelit Hurricane Lanterns surrounded by 'puddles' of fresh fragrant Rose Petals, we arrange them in this way to reflect the natural way that Rose petals fall from a Rose, the closer the fresh petals are to the lantern the headier the fragrance, personally, I'm not too keen on the artificial tram lines of petals it looks very un-natural unlike the romantic and fragranced atmosphere this creates.

Framing the Registrars table were two of our magnificently tall and elegant Delphinium dominated pedestals, these two placements historically are designed to represent the Bride & Groom's 'Guardian Angels' they are there to protect their vows and guard their love from evil spirits, flower placements like this are used in all sorts of marriage ceremonies across the globe, transcending religious and cultural differences, they are always fresh and alive to reflect the life force in their love.

Tall upwardly striving Delphiniums towered over the ceremony space so magnificently

Posies of Roses, Hydrangeas and Gypsophilia dressed the small Registrars table so beautifully, we'd chosen the low round 'bulb' vases to follow the shape of the table.
We are always impressed with a 'pressed' table cloth, Eaves Hall really have this nailed beautifully crisp table linens are standard here and very much appreciated!

Katie's super handsome 'blue eyed' Bride Groom was first to have his rather special boutonniere pinned to his lapel, we loved his suit from Whitfield and Ward and we'd designed his Delphinium & Rose Bud Boutonniere to compliment his tie, jacket, waistcoat and pocket square combination
Jason pinned on all of the boutonnieres and corsages ensuring each one was positioned perfectly

The Bride Groom's seriously proud parents Julie & Stephen
We'd made each corsage to match the ladies outfits perfectly

The Bride's seriously glamorous Mum Julie, we'd created her corsage to compliment her oyster ensemble

The Bridesmaids looked heavenly in their platinum coloured gowns by Kelsey Rose from The Dressing Room in Garstang
The absolute star of the show the breathtakingly beautiful Katie wearing Gabriella by Kenneth Winston from the great folks at Lulu Browns

The Bridesmaids bouquets were created to compliment their platinum gowns and included Blue Delphiniums, White Peonies, Nude Roses, Freesia, Poppy Seed Heads and Sweet Peas

Bridal bouquets carried in just the right place help to create the perfect silhouette, the elongate the body and ensure a perfect posture xxx
Katie with her amazing Dad such a proud moment xxxx
Take a deep breath and savour the moment Katie!!! xxxxx
...and they're in...

The professional photographer for the day was the super lovely Nick English, we really love working with him
Jason was so into the ceremony, he forgot to take pictures, I actually love that fact, we were all so invested in this day that we had to toss coins to decide who was going, Jason was of course the winner, we were all very envious of him!!! xxxx

Huge & Ginormous Congratulations to Katie & David from all of the team here at Flower Design Events

Too gorgeous for words!!!xx

Love this moment!!!! xxxx You did it guys!!!xxx

Beautiful pale blue and nude bridal bouquet of Roses, Peonies, Forget Me Nots, Love in the Mist, Sweet Peas, Freesia, Poppy Seed Heads, Delphiniums and Hydrangeas with fresh fragrant herbs and foliages.

Whilst our Bride & Groom were being congratulated and everyone enjoyed the drinks reception a transformation was taking place the dining room which was now dressed for a sophisticated wedding breakfast, tables were decorated with a combination of high and low table centrepieces
Our super tall conical vases were topped with a floral explosion in shades of pale blue, ivory and nude shades, the view across the table was un-hindered and allowed a relatively clear look across to the Top Table.
Some of the tables were dressed with our Baroque Candelabras, which later as the light dimmed would provide a romantic back drop to to the evening festivities.

The Top Table looked lovely decorated with posies of fresh flowers set on a row of mirror tiles

Posies of fresh flowers surrounded the Bridesmaids bouquets on a couple of the tables ensuring that their gorgeousness was fully enjoyed

The top table flowers looked so pretty in our round 'bulb vases' they were illuminated by our mirrpored tea light votives

The Bride's Bouquet was placed in a vase in the centre of the top table just between our Bride & Groom forming the perfect focal point

It was lovely to see the super talented Howard Wing all ready to entertain everyone xx

We really enjoyed creating the wedding flowers for Katrina & Scott's big day over at The Daffodil Hotel & Spa in Grasmere, they had loads of ideas, bags of details and a myriad of wedding suppliers involved in their complex plans for their Lake District Wedding Day: Gavin from GJP Photo in Carlisle, The Church Mouse supplied their Cheese Tower, Linda and her team from Sophisticated Events provided venue dressing as did Catherine from The Purple Swan, The Bride's Gallery in Heskin supplied Katrina's Kenneth Winston Gown, Little Mistress supplied the Bridesmaid's Gowns, the fabulous Sonara Parker was responsible for make up & the sensational Agent Smith Band provided the entertainment.
The Mood Board Katrina & Scott had put together included lots of interesting elements the colour scheme of pale and dove grey with navy polka dots and ivory was a perfect match to the slate grey facade of The Daffodil Hotel
We put together one of our FD Flower Palettes as a suggestion for the flowers we'd be using to create their sample and subsequent wedding day flowers
We got together with Katrina & Scott to present them with their sample bridal designs
Katrina's sample wedding bouquet included a heavenly collection of Dahlia's Peonies, English Garden Roses, Freesia, Sweet Peas,  Astrantia, Senecio, Albiflora and Love in the Mist
We made a sample of their Top Table and their table centrepiece ideas
The sample design for their guest tables a grey crate filled with fresh flowers
On the Big day Jason presented the Bridal Bouquets in one of our FD Bridal Boxes
Katrina's wedding bouquet was finished off with a bespoke locket
Jason showed our Bride and her Bridesmaids how to carry their bouquets perfectly in one of our Flower Design Tutorials

Jason met up with the Bride Groom Scott and his party to pin on all of the boutonnieres ensuring each one was positioned perfectly
The Bride Groom's Boutonniere featured an Avalanche Rose with Senecio, Eucalyptus, Albiflora, Astrantia and Love in the Mist and bound with silver bullion
The Groom's Men's boutonnieres were bound with polka dot ribbon
